Summary of Muse: Rose Tyler met the Doctor in 2005 during the attempted invasion by the Nestene Consciousness. She traveled with him from then on, witnessing the Coronation in 1953 and the end of the world in the year five billion, defeating assaults on the Earth by the Slitheen and the Sycorax, and fighting Daleks in 2012 and 200,100.

Following the Battle of Canary Wharf in 2007, Rose found herself trapped on a parallel Earth that ran a little ahead of her original one. Having some idea of what was to come, and still desperate to rejoin the Doctor, she used the Dimension Canon to cross to the universe. She watched the approach of the Dalek fleet on a screen in an abandoned computer shop in London before deciding to track down Donna’s family, saving them from capture by a Dalek, which she gunned down. Rose watched the conversation over the Subwave Network from the Nobles’ house, unable to participate, but she used the Dimension Cannon to lock onto the TARDIS once it was pulled in by the global phone call to the Doctor. She watched as the Doctor was struck down by a Dalek ray, and was with him in the TARDIS when it was brought on board the Crucible.

It had been a year right down to the day since she had been left behind at Bad Wolf Bay now for the second and supposedly final time but the blonde woman did her best not to think of it too much. A year and she was still a bit sore over it though she really didn’t show it to others. She just kept on, moved on ahead with her life as best as she could. It was what she used to do the first time, tucking away that little spark of hope for herself that one day it’d be possible. It was cold then as she thought back to the event and it was cold now but she wasn’t back in Norway nor was she at her office in Torchwood, she was just walking down the pier in Cardiff of all places with her hands tucked inside her leather jacket pockets.

There was reasoning behind the location of course but then so had all those other trips that she had taken for the past month and a half. All had ended in failure but she wasn’t about to give up. She just couldn’t. Her gaze lingered a bit on the horizon watching the sun as it was starting to set on another day. The streaks of orange and pink against the sky caused her to smile just a bit. Hopefully, this time it hadn’t moved. "Come on, work. Please," she muttered to herself in a low voice, resting her hand on the circular device and activating it.

She closed her eyes, hoping and praying silently that this time the scenery would change and there would be no zeppelins overhead.

Her mum had been against it of course, crossing into unknown universes with new technology was just beyond risky. Mickey had called her mad for it. It seemed that the only two people that really believed she could do it were her dad and Jake. And so after what was the 18th time, Rose ignored her mum’s protests, it was the same old song and dance. You could die. What if it’s not the right one again? Don’t do it. But once again she didn’t listen and just hugged her, her dad, Jake and then Mickey before finally kissing her baby brother on the forehead with a grin. It was something that she had to do even if it was another failure but she was a bit wiser than those other times. There were rules and a time limit.

Flicking the circular disc on, seconds soon passed and the blonde faded away like a ghost only to reappear face down against cold concrete. It wasn’t unusual really. At least this time it wasn’t some roof top. Slowly she got to her feet and dusted herself off to survey her surroundings. People were milling around and it was definitely cold. There were no zeppelins of course but that was standard. No use getting her hopes up. Sticking her hands into her purple bomber jacket pockets Rose walked down the sidewalk paying attention to the cars that passed. They seemed modern enough. Nothing futuristic or old about them at all but then many other worlds that weren’t her own resembled this. There was only one way to find out for sure as she attempted to find a newsstand.

Rose stood near the entrance of the Ivy as people walked about. She was dressed in a simple black dress with red pumps and looked a tad preoccupied with her mobile as she was texting her mate back with a grin. Jake always had to be so nosy hadn’t he? But she expected that of course, given the amount of time that they knew each other and the scrapes they got into. Finally hitting send and flipping the mobile shut, the blonde looked around keeping a sharp eye out for this person that was she supposed to meet.

Come to think of it, she didn’t really know what he looked like. He could have been anyone, she thought watching a group of people pass by elegantly dressed. One had caught her eye but she quickly dismissed it. Not him. There had been a lot that she had always wondered about Time Lords and she was determined to get some answers even if this one was a tad of a nutter though he did seem genuinely nice when the offer was brought forward. And plus they had someone in common and he did seem interested. So...He would show up, yes. Only a matter of time, she reminded herself.

For the record, I don't even know what a Herzegovinian is but it doesn't sound all that pleasant.

Now to go and take care of some things.
